Gallery Announce PictureReady Background Picture Digitising System

Gallery announce a groundbreaking new technology set to transform productivity in Audio for Video post production studios. The new PictureReady video recording software allows users to Digitize Video off tape (or live feed) into a QuickTime movie, using almost any QuickTime compatible video hardware, and immediately open the movie on the same, or a networked machine to start cutting against, whilst it continues to record into the file.  As more picture is digitized, later parts of the open movie automatically become available to work against.

This will allow Pro Tools users to begin working with new picture almost immediately it arrives, rather than having to wait real time for the picture to be digitized. The delay in digitizing picture has been one reason why certain sectors of post production have continued to work off tape. The new PictureReady technology from Gallery will transform workflow, cutting out a significant stage which currently ties up expensive machines loading real time before work can begin.

PictureReady is compatible with Gallery's VirtualVTR video subsystem, and most other QuickTime compatible software. Networked users of VirtualVTR may designate a loading station to run the PictureReady recorder, delivering networked video immediately accessible in real time over Gigabit Ethernet or Fibre to multiple audio studios

The feature-enhanced VirtualVTR Pro costs $1499 / £999 / €1699, and includes additional powerful functionality such as video streamers, pan and scan, beeps and Foley GPI control.
